A working ranch outside Montrose — and the venue we have DJ’d more than any other outside the Grand Valley.
Storm King Mountain Ranch sits on Buckhorn Road outside Montrose, and we have worked ten weddings here since 2022 — more than at any other venue outside the Grand Valley. We are back again this October. That is not a coincidence: couples who see the place tend to book it, and we keep getting the call.
What we have learned across those ten days is mostly about the light and the wind. Sunset comes over the ridge earlier than the clock suggests, so a ceremony that looks fine on paper at 5:30 can end up backlit. And an open ranch reception needs the speakers placed with some thought, or the sound walks off across the field instead of landing on the dance floor. Neither is a problem — they are just things worth knowing before the timeline gets locked.
Montrose is a regular run for us rather than a special trip, and we build the drive into the plan so setup is finished long before your first guest turns up the road.
Every Firefly wedding starts with the same foundation: Nathan on the mic and the music for your whole day, a separate PA and microphone for the ceremony so your vows carry, wireless mics for toasts, and a dance floor paced to keep guests up and out of their seats. Kyann runs the open-air Photo Booth — instant prints, custom templates, props, and a backdrop.
Ceremony audio is included, not an add-on — and extras like uplighting and dance-floor lighting are there when you want the space to do more. See how it prices out on our pricing page, or have a look at the vendors we hand our couples to.
