Grand Junction and the surrounding Grand Valley is home turf for Firefly Entertainment. Nathan and Kyann are based here, which means local clients get the full benefit of their relationships with local venues, vendors, and knowledge of the area. The Grand Valley also benefits from Kyann's deep roots in Palisade — the vineyard and orchard region that draws couples from across Colorado.
Grand Junction sits where the Gunnison meets the Colorado, ringed by three landscapes that look nothing like each other: the red sandstone monoliths of Colorado National Monument to the west, the Book Cliffs to the north, and Grand Mesa rising some 6,000 feet above the valley to the east. It is genuinely dry — under ten inches of rain in an average year — which is why couples here plan outdoor receptions with a confidence that would be reckless almost anywhere else in Colorado.
There is a long precedent for it. John Otto, who campaigned the Monument into existence and then served as its first custodian for a dollar a month, married Beatrice Farnham at the base of Independence Monument on 20 June 1911, inside a roped circle of evergreens and sunflowers with “truth, honor, love, and justice” marked at the four compass points. This valley is home for us: no travel fee, we arrive early enough to set up properly rather than fast, and we have played most of the rooms in it — Sky Lake Events, Orchard River View, Mesa View and the Palisade wineries among them. Nathan runs ceremony audio and the music start to finish; Kyann runs the open-air photo booth.
